Biography
I love science and learning about the world and how everything fits together but it is not my only passion. I have a wonderful husband and two children. We enjoy biking together, exploring the museums in Rochester, and snuggling on our couch and watching movies. I have finished 6 scrapbooks for various family members and am currently working on my daughters who will graduate from high school in one year. In addition to scrapbooking, I love to read murder mysteries just for fun.
Finally, because God’s word and what we can learn from it is so vital to our walk with Him, I have the privilege of leading the children and teen bible quizzing programs at my local church. It is a tossup who learns more, but we have fun in the process!

Research Interests
Saccharomyces cerevisiae (also known as brewers or bakers yeast) and the gene Slk19.
We are studying the proteins functioning in the pathway responsible for correct segregation of chromosomes during meiosis.
